Ghanaian female gospel artiste, Anita Afriyie has claimed secular music has no positive role to play in the society other than mislead the people.
Speaking recently on Brunch2Lunch show on Radio Universe, the ‘Adehye Mogya’ singer said: ‘It is true we (gospel artistes) sing and win souls for Christ, however, the people listen to the songs and it has influence on their lives. If any song should be awarded, it should be gospel songs because you have to award the best. If you are faced with a challenge, I don’t think you will listen to these secular songs that lack message.’
Anita Afriye, who is one of the top female gospel acts in the country, added that gospel artistes should be awarded the accolades for releasing songs that are insightful and uplifting to the society.
