Top player Cristiano Ronaldo and José Mourinho were both sent off last night (May 17) as Real Madrid lost Copa del Rey final to Atlético Madrid – the first time they had been beaten by their city rivals in 26 games.
The match which was described as ‘dramatic’ and ‘bad-tempered’ had ended in a one all draw at the end of 90 minutes with Ronaldo grabbing the goal for the home side and Costa for the visitors.
Miranda grabbed the winner for the visitor in extra time (’99). Ronaldo was sent off in the 114th minute while Mourinho had been walked off the side-line earlier in the 77th minute.
