The Santos legend, in an interview with L’Uomo Vogue, said he feels the Portuguese has overtaken his Argentine rival in the recent seasons while tipping Neymar to be No.1 soon and help Brazil to number the global ranking once more.
‘Now, after several years of Messi dominance, the best is Cristiano, the future will smile on Neymar. He can be the key man at Barcelona and help Brazil to return to its rightful place in the rankings,’ he added.
Pelé, a global icon of the round leather game, began playing for Santos at 15 and was called into the Brazil national team at just 16. He spent 18 years at Santos during two spells, helping the club to several trophies.
