British business mogul Richard Branson, Nigerian entertainment stakeholder Ben Murray-Bruce and Forbes declared ‘Richest man in Africa’ Aliko Dangote are set to feature in the forthcoming MTV Base Meets…with MTN TV series. The news was announced by Alex Okosi, Senior Vice President & Managing Director, MTV Networks Africa and Serame Taukobong, Chief Marketing Officer, MTN.
Branson – Virgin Group founder, Murray-Bruce – Chairman, Silverbird Group and Dangote – President, Dangote Group will now join Heads of State President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf (Liberia) and President Paul Kagame (Rwanda), and Julius Malema (President, African National Congress Youth League) among other influence individuals who will feature in the upcoming series which is set to hit the screens on Monday, July 18, 2011 all across the African continent.
‘Sir Richard Branson, Aliko Dangote and Ben Murray-Bruce are all iconic leaders whose business flair first showed itself at an impressively early age. We are delighted that they have agreed to participate in MTV base Meets…with MTN as their participation will provide young Africans with a unique opportunity to share their candid insights about business and entrepreneurship and to hear their views on some of the key issues facing African youth today’, Okosi commented.
The Youth panelists who have participated in the taping of the TV series so far include: 27-year-old bank worker Princess Cooper (Liberia) who interviewed President Sirleaf-Johnson, professional comedian Daniel Friedman (South Africa), 17-year-old high school student Fred Saydee (Ghana) and journalism student Babajide Oni-Olusola (Nigeria).

In May 2011, MTV Networks Africa and MTN have joined forces in a groundbreaking pan-African multimedia campaign designed to inspire African youth by connecting them with some of the world’s most influential people.
