
Mc Loph who was made popular by his hit rendition of a remix of Late Osita Osadebe’s ‘Osondi Owendi’, was said to be driving down to the East along the Benin/Ore road when, his automobile crashed on Wednesday, September 14, 2011. Loph was in the company of his sister and fiancée who was supposed to become his bride in a few days. His bride-to-be survived the accident while his only sibling died.
He was buried on Friday, October 28, 2011 along with his sister Chinwe at his family’s compound in Ugwuaro, Anambra State.
MC Loph who is known to rhyme in Igbo dialect started rapping from his secondary school days in the East. He attended the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN). He is credited with two albums ‘Wrekognize’ and ‘Hands up’ which spurned the hit song ‘Osondi Owendi’ featuring fellow Eastern singer Flavour.
Both albums were released under EastSyde Records. The rapper before his death worked with other acts like Flavour, Blackface, Faze, Mr. Raw, and a few others..
4 years ago when news of his death broke, torrents of messages poured in from colleagues on social network Twitter and BlackBerry.
