Real Madrid made a statement of intent, something they have been lacking in a while, in a remarkable manner today, winning 9 – 1 win against Granada.
April 5, 2015 is thus a historic day at the Santiago Bernabeu as the European champions ran riot, scoring total of nine goals as Cristiano Ronaldo scored five goals including a hat-trick in just eight minutes in the first half.
Welsh striker, Gareth Bale who has been jeered lately by Real Madrid fans, opened scoring by netting a goal in 25th minute, followed by Cristiano Ronaldo who scored in the 30th, 36th, 38th and also in the 54th minute. Karim Benzema scored twice in the 52nd and 56th minutes, with an own goal from Mainz in the 83rd minute before Ronaldo wrapped things up in the 89th minute.
Robert Ibanez of Granada was lucky enough to score a consolation goal in the 74 minutes, the only blot for Real Madrid. With 5 goals, Ronaldo once more leads the pack in La Liga, with a total of 36 goals in the Spanish league so far this season.
