The first lady of Nigeria Mrs. Patience Jonathan was given a ‘surprise birthday’ party by her husband President Goodluck Jonathan in Perth, Australia on Wednesday, October 26, 2011, PM News reported.
Guests included the Governor of Benue State, Gabriel Suswam (who conducted the birthday ceremony) and key aides.
The President and First lady had travelled to Australia to participate in the 2011 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).
But an Australian publication ‘The Australian’ reported that President Jonathan missed the two speeches he was scheduled to deliver at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.
According to the article written by Amanda O’Brien, Jonathan was scheduled to ‘outline his country’s mining potential’. He was represented by the Nigerian Mines and Steel Minister Musa Mohammed Sada.
There is still no explanation on why Mr President, who reportedly led a delegation of 120 people to Australia, failed to appear for his scheduled speeches. The forum will end on October 30.

I agree with Ted, Mr President should be able to prioritize his appointments and know which should be of more importance at the right time a birthday bash could be celebrated later in the evening.

This is the “GOODLUCK” Nigerians voted for. We never voted for a man with legacy,a man we could trust,a man who got our votes with his past achievement. We voted for a “NAME”,just a name and the presumed fortune that goes with it. After setting the country on the edge with his non-existent fuel subsidy,you go “happy birthdaying” with an old hag that sucks the lips of our administrative symbol,purpose and mission abandoned

I don’t expect any less from from jobless governor like Suswan. I know Suswan is very much happy having an unserious minded man like Jonathan as his Boss n President. But let me assure them of one sure thing; NAIJA WILL FOREVER BE GR8 MATTER HOW THEY POTTERY US.
