Jorge Mario Bergoglio, Pope Francis, is the 266th and current Pope of the Catholic Church in which capacity he is the first Pope of the Americas and current the Bishop of Rome and absolute Sovereign of the Vatican City state in Italy.
The pope celebrated St. Valentine’s Day, hosting a congregation of 20,000 couples at St. Peter’s Square, Rome in Italy.
The pope urged the couples to resist the temptation of segregating from each other, and to build their true love in the solid rock of Christ without an illusion.
According to Punch, the pope told the congregation, ‘The love of God is stable and everlasting, so we want such love to be the foundation of every family. Staying together and knowing how to love one another forever is the challenge for Christian spouses.’
Francis further stated a basic point in a Twitter message when he said, ‘Dear young people don’t be afraid to marry. A faithful marriage will bring you happiness.’
