Veteran actor and director, Adebayo Salami popularly known as Oga Bello in the acting world, celebrated his 50th year on stage as an actor yesterday, December 10, 2014 in Lagos.
The event held with a special stage production titled ‘Olooko Oba’ at the Shell Hall of MUSON Centre, Lagos.
It was well attended by Nollywood stars like Olu Jacobs, Joke Silva, Kwam 1, Iyabo Ojo, Fathia Balogun, Muyiwa Ademola, Kunle Afod and others who all watched the stage play in honour of the iconic thespian.
Adebayo Salami was born on May 9, 1953 in Lagos. The actor, who hails from Kwara State, started acting in 1964 at the age of 11 with Youngstar Concept Group led by the late Ojo Ladipo. The group later transformed into the Ojo Ladipo Theatre Group and the Awada Keri Keri group.
Adebayo Salami produced his first celluloid movie titled Ogun Ajaye in 1975, followed by Omo Orukan in 1987 and Eri Okan in 1989 and has since produced several others in the course of his 50-year old career.
