Juliet Ibrahim launched her book, ‘A Toast To Life’ on Sunday at the Civic Center, Lagos where she let close friends and the media have a first look at the book. The book is an autobiography about Juliet’s life which was written for general public consumption.
The award-winning actress stated that she had been inspired to write about her life story when she got into an accident about two years ago where a trailer hit the vehicle she was in and she miraculously came out of the car unscathed. She also added that writing this book was like exposing a personal part of her life to people. She asked that she does not want to be pitied because of the issues she has had to deal with, as she’s only expressing how those experiences have been vital in moulding her to become the woman she is today.
The book is meant to be an inspiration to many young women across the world who get to see how it is to rise from numerous challenges to become a celebrated woman in society. The book addresses serious societal issues like rape, molestation, war and marriage at a young age but also has stories about success.
Juliet had veteran actor RMD, comedienne and host, Chigul, media practitioner Noble Igwe, and Brand Specialist Charles O’ Tudor read snippets from different chapters in the book, as she was celebrated by many celebrities who came out to support her.
