Ed Sheeran and David Beckham were among the stars who attended Sir Elton John’s wedding yesterday, Sunday, December 21, 2014.
The 67-year-old singer officially wedded his partner of over 20 years at their Windsor estate in southeast England, and invited a flurry of stars to celebrate their big day.
Former footballer, David was joined by his wife Victoria Beckham and their four children, Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper, at the bash to celebrate the nuptials of their close friends, who are godparents to their two eldest children.
‘Thinking Out Loud’ hitmaker Ed was spotted posing for a photo with the groom, 52-year-old David Furnish, in an image posted on Instagram, as did comedian Jimmy Carr, actor Hugh Grant, singer Lulu, actress Elizabeth Hurley and comedian David Walliams, who was joined by his wife, Lara Stone.
Earlier in the day, the couple confirmed they had officially wed by posting a photo of themselves signing the legal forms, alongside which Elton wrote: ‘That’s the legal bit done. Now on to the ceremony! #ShareTheLove @DavidFurnish (sic).’
The ceremony itself took place next to a Damien Hirst alter, and featured their two sons, Zachary and 23-month-old Elijah as the ring bearers, who had the gold bands attached to cuddly rabbit toys which they carried up the aisle.
The newlyweds have championed the idea for same-sex couples to be allowed to marry in the UK for many years, with legislation allowing it eventually coming into force in March.
