When Pere Egbi walked into Big Brother’s house, many BBNaija fans took to him for his quiet and observant personality.
The 35-year-old nurse was born in Warri, Delta State, in 1986. As a wildcard, he won fans to his side with his excellent acting skills that convinced the other housemates that he was one of them.
Once he secured his spot, Pere not only won the Head of House challenge, he also won several challenges during the show. He exhibited discipline, showing his military training and a dedication to success that most Nigerians related to, earning him the nickname ‘General Pere’.
Pere always took every task seriously, and he won over 3 million Naira and a car in the house. Pere earned himself the respect of fans who saved him from eviction three times and kept him in the house to the finals.
When he was ‘fake evicted’ from the house and given a task alongside Angel to determine who goes back into the house, his fans protested so much that Biggie had to bring him back to the show.
The voting power of his fans, who call themselves Patriots, led Pere to finish BBNaija Shine Ya Eye in the top 3 as the second runner-up with 14.77% of the votes during the final week.
Pere showed resilience and talent in the BBNaija house, which earned him the adoration of many Nigerians and a fanbase willing to weather the storm with him.
