French club-side, Paris Saint German have claimed their third consecutive league after winning the 2014-15 title on Saturday, May 16, 2015.
The Qatari-owned club needed only a point against Montpellier but ended the night with eight points clear as they finished the game with a 2 – 1 victory after goals from Blaise Matuidi and Ezequiel Lavezzi helped the team stay clear of their closest rivals, Lyon who were held to a 1-1 home draw by Girondins Bordeaux.
In total, the Paris Saint Germain wrapped up the French Ligue 1 with 80 points and have now won five trophies: 1985–86, 1993–94, 2012–13, 2013–14, 2014–15 seasons.
