Oscar Pistorius has been charged with premeditated murder over the death of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp.
A South African court charged the double amputee track star on Monday, August 19, 2013. He will also face a charge of illegal possession of ammunition when he goes on trial March 3, 2014 in a court based in the South African capital, Pretoria.
‘…the accused did unlawfully and intentionally kill a person’, a line in the indictment read. AP reports Pistorius couldn’t hold back tears in court today.
This indictment follows the closing of police investigation into the case.
Pistorius was arrested on February 14, 2013 with the murder of his girlfriend Reeva, whom he had fatally shot at his home in the early hours of that morning.
