Browns’ Café on Oduduwa Crescent in Ikeja G.R.A hosted a handful of artistes from different genres of music on Sunday, June 26, 2011 for the July edition of One Mic Naija. The open-mic event is designed to encourage upcoming acts in the entertainment industry as they perform over a live band.
Anchored by rappers Kel, KB and comedian Koffi, the gig was exciting to say the least. Headline performances from gospel act Nikki Laoye and Yemi Alade won the hearts of the crowd while others like Fivemics, Slim T, Efa, and Big Ma also rocked the mic impressively. Other artistes present at the gig were hip-hop act Overdose, sexy diva Ashionye, upcoming act Beazy and a few others.
A small singing competition also went down and it was Olushola, a One Mic Naija crew member that won by singing a Michael Jackson cover for ‘You are not alone’.
The event was powered by WePlugGoodMusic, Ground Zero MNGT, M.et.al and s.h.a.r.e.
