Optima Media Group (OMG), in partnership with telecoms giant, Etisalat Nigeria and Pepsi, has concluded plans for the successful take-off of the new season of Nigerian Idol.
The unveiling of the annual music TV reality show, also sponsored by Payporte and Dabur Herbal, is billed to hold in the first week of 2015 at a venue to be disclosed later.
Beside the main task of the day, the event will also feature the public presentation of the three-man panel of celebrity judges for Season 5 and the show modalities including procedures for participation.
In addition to the regular unveiling process, organisers say there will be opportunity for a Press Idol to emerge through an on-the-spot singing competition that offers a prize of $1,000 for the top performer of the day.
According to the Group Managing Director of Optima Media Group, Rotimi Pedro: ‘We are delighted to be able to create the right and unique platforms across different fields for Nigerians to take advantage of and maximize their potentials. We have successfully done this over the years on a global stage as the Idol franchise provides. Our further commitment is to work with more partners in achieving this.’
Nigerian Idol Season 5, during the season, will feature exciting performances from past winners including Yeka Onka, Mercy Chinwo, Moses Adigwe and Evelle.
Nationwide auditions will be held between January and February 2015 across 5 Nigerian cities; Benin City, Port Harcourt, Abuja, Ibadan and Lagos, while airing kicks off in March.
