The British Broadcasting Corporation has announced a number of brand new Africa-focused programmes to support its extensive offering across its TV, radio and online platforms.
Among the series from the new programmes list released is Africa Beats will is meant to showcase the wonders of African music from September 12.
The progamme will feature a range of artists hailing from across the continent including South Africa, Ghana, Rwanda, Mali, Madagascar, Nigeria, Western Sahara and Mozambique.
Nigerian singer-songwriter, Omawumi Megbele and Afro-fusion singer, Villy John Odili while six other artistes will feature in the Africa Beats episodes in October.

Episode 2 – 19th September Aziza Brahim (Western Sahara)
Episode 3 – 26th September Tumi Molekane (South Africa/Mozambique)
Episode 4 – 3rd October Songhoy Blues (Mali)
Episode 5 – 10th October Omawumi Megbele (Nigeria)
Episode 6 – 17th October Adrien Kazigira (Rwanda)
Episode 7 – 24th October Lala Njava (Madagascar)

Africa Beats will be showcasing some of the continent’s finest musicians in eight short films to be broadcast on BBC World News and online.
