Former Governor of the old Western Region of Nigeria, General Adeyinka Adebayo (rtd) will chair the event where politicians and notable leaders of thought are expected to grace the carpet.
Also expected at the event are Profs. Pat Utomi, Egerton Uvieghara, Bankole Sodipo, Duro Oni among others.
Top players in the nation’s entertainment industry, Okoroji’s main sector, will be on ground. Yinka Davis, popular musician and judge on Nigerian Idol, has pledged to give a performance that will not be forgotten in a long while.
Organisers of the event, Network of friends of Chief Tony Okoroji, have promised to ensure that the book launch is talked about for many years to come.
Patrick Doyle, a key member of the network says: ‘Tony Okoroji is the grandmaster of the big show and leaves nothing unplanned for. He is the man who introduced the big showbiz award events to Nigeria, attracting presidents, ambassadors, governors and celebrities from around the world to the famous Nigerian Music Awards which he conceived and produced.
‘While Okoroji is a showbiz master, he is also an intellectual of immense depth which can be seen in the quality of his works. He is a true nationalist with friends across Nigeria. We promise an event this Sunday to match the man’s exceptional standards,’ he concluded.
Also speaking ahead of the launch, Lucy Ajayi, another member of the group says: ‘The big book launch in the week of General Buhari’s inauguration is our own contribution to the General’s inauguration process and we are doing it in Lagos, the heartbeat of the Nigerian nation and we will do it in style. For us, it is a celebration of Change. Anyone who is not at this event would have missed big time!’
