American artist, Trina Merry, who specialises in body painting, came up with the genius idea to meticulously paint naked models to blend perfectly with their surroundings and the results were breathtaking.

In the photos, which were taken at famous landmarks, passers-by can be seen going about their daily lives, showing that normal activity was going on while they were being shot.

Trina explained: ‘I paint on people and, with great care, photograph them using single perspective point photography. This creates a hyper realistic illusion that they are blending into their surroundings.’

She explained that each body paint took her between one and three hours to finish, and that the subject was usually required to remain perfectly still while it was being done.

It’s amazing how the models almost look transparent.
