And in regards to the painful exit of Ashley Nwosu, the easy-going Nollywood actor, the sun no longer shines its best. He took a massive bow out with the movie, ‘The Stone’, where the curtain dropped with an ovation that will linger for ages in the hearts of all movie makers and lovers.
At just 57, Mazi Ashley Chijioke Nwosu a.k.a ‘Boy’, bid this cold world farewell on Thursday, April 21, 2011 as a result of a liver-related illness at the Military Hospital in Yaba, Lagos. He is survived by his wife, Grace Nwosu and four children.
It was a stampede of celebs as many grazed the candle-light procession of the fallen icon at Ojez Bar, situated in the Lagos National Stadium, Surulere on Thursday, June 2, 2011. The attendance recorded a list that cuts across many genres of the industry. Comedians like Ayo Makun (AY) and Julius Agwu attended, so were popular actors like Kanayo .O. Kanayo, Genevieve Nnaji, Chioma Akpotar, Bob Manuel, Clarion Chukwura, and producers Kingsley Omoefe, Fred Amata, Emeka Enyiocha and Don Pedro just to list but a few of so many celebrated individuals that were there to honour him in tears, words and lighted candles.
Wednesday, June 1, 2011 witnessed a service of songs for him by many including the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) at the Community Club on 37, Glover Court off Glover Road in Ikoyi, Lagos from 5PM.
