An actress and movie producer, Ayo Adesanya was born in Ijagun, an outskirt of Ijebu in Ogun state. She had her elementary education in Ibadan, Oyo state and got a degree in Communication Arts from the University of Ibadan.
Once married to movie producer and director, Goriola Hassan, Ayo Adesanya first hit the screen when she appeared in Tunji Bamishigbin‘s late 90s series, Palace. She later acted in several Nollywood movies including ‘Dancer’ and ‘ Tears in My Heart’ before crossing over from the English speaking arm of Nollywood to acting in Yoruba movies.
Ayo Adesanya recently began activities celebrating her 20 years in the movie industry. She recently posted on Instagram: ‘ When I look back at the years I have been doing this I am always grateful….20 years of being camera friendly…I am always grateful …20 years of hearing the word action and cut…am always grateful despite the turbulence in between, God gave me a second chance and I came back fully just few years back….when I look back at this New me I see positivity and this has been made possible just because you are here….thank u for that special support.‘
On Saturday, August 8, 2015, Ayo Adesanya visited the Diamond Orphanage Home alongside her son and industry colleagues in celebration in an attempt to give back to the society.
