Progress Chukwuyem has won the seventh edition of the Nigerian Idol, beating his fellow finalist Zadok Aghalengbe, on Sunday, May 22, 2022.
In what was a breathtaking rendition of the song Bang Bang by Ariana Grande, Jesse J, And Nick Minaj, Progress thrilled viewers with his soothing voice and stage mastering, and fans of the show and Nigerian music lovers congratulated the 21-year-old for his win.
Congratulatory messages poured on social media as IK Osakioduwa announced Progress as the winner of the 7th edition of the show.
In an emotional tweet, TV host and Presenter Ebuka Obi-Uchendu tweeted ‘Awwww, Progress,’ as congratulatory messages swept the internet.
“Progress sings and believes every lyric. He always personalised his performance. Some of his performances always gave you connecting so deeply with him and tend to see him in the person the song was written for.” Onyinyechi Wrote on Twitter.
Another Twitter user, Saint, urged music lovers to support the music career of both finalists.

Visibly emotional from his win, Progress performed, ‘Send me an Angel’ by Scorpions, for the last time on the Nigerian Idol stage, in what will be a performance that left goosebumps on the Nigerian Idol audience.

For winning the competition, Progress has won a grand prize of N100 million, which includes a brand new Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) and a record deal with a top record label, among other mouthwatering prizes.
