Chike, one of Nigeria’s high-flying RnB artistes, has been confirmed as a headline act for the live performance at the grand finale of Nigerian Idol Season 6, Africa’s biggest music talent show.
After 12 weeks of electrifying music performances and nonstop excitement, Nigerian Idol Season 6 will wrap up with a live show which airs by 7pm on Sunday, July 11, 2021. The online polls have closed, and by the end of the night, the viewing public will find out who wins the competition, and ultimately walks away with N50 million naira worth of prizes.
Chike, full name Chike Ezekpeazu Osebuka, was born on January 28, 1993. In 2015 he successfully auditioned for MTN Project Fame West Africa, but got eliminated in the show’s early stages. In 2016, he emerged first runner-up on the first edition of The Voice Nigeria, narrowly losing out to Arese Emokpae.
In 2020, he released his debut album, Boo Of The Booless, which was well-received by critics. Some of the singles off the album, including “If You No Love”, “Nakupenda” and “Running”, have become anthems at Nigerian weddings.
Other artistes scheduled to perform at this season’s finale include award-winning music producer Cobhams Asuquo, fast-rising pop artiste Ayra Starr, and serial hitmaker Patoranking.
The winner of Nigerian Idol Season 6 will walk away with a recording deal of a six-track EP, with music video shoots for three of the songs, and over 50 million Naira worth of prizes which include a ₦30 million cash prize and a brand new SUV.
