Speaking with Oprah Winfrey on OWN reality programme, Sam, who is the seventh of eight children with three of his siblings no longer alive, narrated how they called him names daily just to hurt his feelings because of his gay lifestyle.
‘They used to abuse me daily, Maybe just for fun. Maybe because I was different. They called me a lot of things, They called me fag, they called me gay — anything you could think of, just to hurt me,’ he added.
The former Dallas Cowboys Defensive Player, who is currently a free agent, came out as a gay in an interview with Chris Connelly on ESPN’s Outside the Lines on Sunday, February 9, 2014.
