Several football experts have rightly acknowledged Barcelona striker, Neymar as the next football icon in Brazil but the country’s most notable legend, Pele has stated it is impossible for him to be the next Pele.
The 74-year-old icon scored 77 goals in 92 appearances for Brazil with three World Cup winners medals in 1958, 1962 and 1970 while Neymar already has 42 international goals in 60 appearances but is yet to win the World Cup.
Speaking about Neymar replacing him as the next Brazil icon in a recent interview with Daily Mail, Pele said: ‘I think to be the new king, the new Pele, is impossible, ‘My mother and my father closed the machine.’
Pele added: I think he’s a good player, an excellent, young player and he’s going to be a big star, no doubt.’
