This year’s 20 finalists were revealed recently at the Troy Bar & Lounge, Ogba, Lagos.
They include Okeke Chimezie, Okeowo Oluwatosin , Alaha Gift , Aitsegame Halimat, Josephine Micheal, King Ojikemba, Samuel Babatunde, Ifovboa Ehijemen and Oruambo Chrystabel.
Others are Esigbone Ejiro, Obi Lilyjean,Tonia Ese Oria-Arebun, Ajuyah Sarah, Million Santong, Alabi Folake, Mina Horsefall, Musa Olajoju, Chigbufue Bright, Perpetual Andy and Nnachortam Patrick.
Speaking on the choice of the finalists, the executive producer Sola Fajobi tells us the 20 contestants have been chosen by a panel made up of Jude Orhorha, Bukky Ogunnote-Ogunade and Doris Simeon. He added that the 20 were chosen from different parts of Nigeria and will be put through a week of intense training afterwhich four will be dropped.
Now in its eight year,Next Movie Star has helped launched many Nollywood careers, including Tonto Dikeh, Annie Macaulay-Idibia, Porttiah Yamahan, Moyo Lawal.
The show has also produced three consecutive Big Brother winners: Kevin Chuwang Pam, Uti Nwachukwu and Karen Igho.
