28-year old hard tackling Ivorian footballer, Chieck Tiote, who reportedly got married a second wife recently in his home country, aside a wife and a mistress, has defended style of living.
According to source close to the player, the Newcastle United midfielder whose married his second wife, identified as Laeticia Doukrou in a traditional ceremony this September, has no problem with his polygamous lifestyle.
‘He doesn’t see a problem with having two wives.’
‘It’s perfectly acceptable in his culture. He doesn’t see he has done anything wrong and doesn’t know what the fuss is all about.’
His agent, Jean Musampa also confirmed reports he has married for a second time.
‘I can say that he did get married and that it is his second marriage.
‘This is nothing unusual. He is a Muslim.’
Tiote, who earns £45,000-a-week currently lives with his first wife Madah and their two children in a mansion in Ponteland near Newcastle, also has a one-year-old child with his mistress, Nikki Mpofu.
