The weekend just got louder, newer, and more thrilling. It’s New Music Friday. From heavy collaborations to solo performances, these are the hottest new tracks causing a stir this week. Interestingly, Blaqbonez and Odumodublvck, two rappers who reportedly have beef in the industry, released today.
We also have Mr Eazi dropping new music a week after his wedding with Temi Otedola, and also see Dammy Krane releasing a new song which has the same title as Blaqbonez’s new release. Dammy Krane has created a niche for himself by copying artists’ song titles and naming his own song as theirs. Let’s look at the new releases:
Odumodublvck featuring Stormzy and Zlatan – “Pay Me”
The rebel himself, Odumodublvck, is back with a thunderous return on “Pay Me“, featuring UK rap heavyweight Stormzy and street-hop king Zlatan.
The track is a genre-bending anthem, fusing grime, street rap, and Afrobeats into a sonic weapon of confidence and charisma. Odumodu, Stormzy, and Zlatan ate, as they are floating on beat. Stormzy’s heavy bars, Odumodu’s raw drill, and Zlatan’s Zanku energy — all sound fire. Odumodublvck’s “Pay Me” samples the 2003 classic “Ahomka Wo Mu” by Ghanaian Hip Hop group, VIP.
Odumodublvck’s aggressive delivery gets us going, but Stormzy’s smooth bars and Zlatan’s street smarts take this banger to a whole other level of international. It’s a defiant reminder that Odumodublvck isn’t catching a wave — he is the wave. The lyrics of the song go as: “RUN ME RUN ME O, PAY ME MY MONEY”.
Blaqbonez – “Everlasting Taker”
Blaqbonez drops an interesting new single titled “Everlasting Taker“, a song that oozes cockiness, charm, and witty bars. Blaqbonez, who is renowned for his genre-defying sound and audacious lyrics, once again shows off his pen skills, dropping razor-sharp punchlines on a mesmerising beat that screams replay value. He also dropped an interesting lyric in the song, which says “Pass me the beat like Yamal to Raphinha”.
The rapper presents a rich image of decadence and unapologetic living, subjects he’s claimed as his signature. “Everlasting Taker” is a strong declaration from a man who’s never been afraid to take what he desires. Look for this to be both a street anthem and a club banger. The lines on Blaqbonez’s “Everlasting Taker” are too hard. Blaqbonez also says, “This no be quick fame; this is a career,” on the song.

Mr Eazi – “Cassanova”
Mr Eazi returns with “Casanova”. Fresh off his wedding over the past weekend with his longtime lover, Temi Otedola, Mr Eazi is back with “Casanova“, a smooth, sultry vibe that tilts towards his signature Banku Music sound but with a contemporary spin. Romantic, melodic, and unmistakably catchy, Eazi narrates the tale of a captivating lover with bad-boy charm. It’s Mr Eazi in his element, carefree, sleek, and effortlessly cool.
Taves – “W2Y (2 Pack)”
Taves drops a mini project with “W2Y (2 Pack)“. The two songs — Way2Yung and 6ways — highlight his feelings and abilities. Whether he sings about love or his own challenges, Taves’ storytelling and singing skills are impressive. Pay attention to him; he’s working on something great.
‘Cause’Cause we’re way too young to be patient / And my friends passed out on the pavement” is a particular lyric in Way2Yung.
Dammy Krane – “Gen Z Leader (Everlasting Taker)”
Dammy Krane comes with “Gen Z Leader (Everlasting Taker)“, a powerful song that discusses the youth’s rebellion, aspirations, and diligence. The title is a nod to Blaqbonez’s song, indicating that Krane intends to voice the concerns of ambitious youths who are on the rise.
