NETPod: Is Tunde Ednut ‘Catching Cold’?

You know it is always advisable to stick to your strongest point. Everybody has a strong point, some people’s stronger than others, only a few can merge two or more things together and make it look good. Key phrase: A few.

Stand up comic Tunde Ednut is one of the fast rising comedians of his time; the young, annoyingly funny comic can make you crack a smile just by staring at you, let alone when he cracks a joke. But he should have kept it there…instead he has ventured into the world of music….with shaky feet.

His debut single ‘My kinda song‘ if there’s anything to go by was probably given a listening ear because it was his introductory song; everybody wanted to hear what the Kogi state born had to offer…apparently not much.

So a second single ‘Catching cold‘ should be able to salvage what’s left of a budding music career right? Not! Tunde performs better no doubt but in a music environment where every listener is enlightened and conscious of the type of music they want to listen to, Mr. Ednut scores a low mark again. However, the production is laudable.

Taking a look at the song, you would think he had been understudying Wizkid for months. He sings about a lady giving him ‘the chills’ and doesn’t mind. Nice concept but Ednut would do better off as a ghost writer than a singer. We give Julius Agwu his props but that’s where it stops.
