Who agrees with me that Reggae music is barely breathing in Nigeria? Well, I do. In a period where music is chunked out by the hour, it’s quite surprising a stern effort hasn’t been made towards the reggae genre. Don’t get me wrong a lot of artistes fall under that category but have soon adopted the raggamuffin (or ragga for short) or most times dancehall.
J Boy (Jesus Boy) is a young reggae who mad his first appearance in the music scene with a feature on De Indispensables ‘Sweet mama’ song. Recently signed to Grafton Records, he released his single ‘Worthy‘ which will usher in his debut work ‘Champion‘.
‘Worthy‘ is an ode to the man above as J Boy waists no time him showering him praise and honour. The drums keep your head bobbing from start to finish as the heavy baseline strikes deep chords. Its laid-back approach makes you want to pause, think and like the song suggests, give praise.
