Two singles out and buzzing, young singer Tolu returns with ‘Free your mind‘, a slow-tempo number. Tolu must have probably been experimenting with this reggae/r&b instrumental because it sounds weird…in a good way.
The guitar strokes are heavy and prominent, almost like it’s talking to you but Tolu breaks in with his vocals – warm and confident as he blends in effortlessly, entwining himself with the strings…encouraging his listener to hand over all sense of control. This is not the kind of music you expect to hear from a Nigerian singer trying to impress, but Tolu throws caution to the wind as the song suggests…Lovely effort. The track was produced by Scottie Bryne.
