NETPod: Sheyi Shay Is ‘Loving Your Way’

Born Deborah Oluwaseyi Joshua, Sheyi Shay is an  UK/American based recording artist, songwriter, and producer raised by Nigerian parents. The 26-year-old says she started performing at the six. At the age of eighteen, she signed her first record deal with Sir George Martin the producer of the legendary band; The Beatles in London.

Seyi Shay says she is currently working on her debut album. Having already recorded a number of songs with top Nigerian producers like Cobhams, Tee-Y Mix, Jay Sleek and Del B, she teases us with two new singles ‘Loving you way‘ and ‘No lele‘.

Even though Sheyi relies on the auto-tune effect, she does exhibit the brilliant use of her voice. Both songs have an up-beat feel and  a ‘home sound’. Sheyi’s confidence and delivery is remarkable and coupled with the heavy percussions, I think we’ve got another R&B singer on the rise.
