Since her recent introduction, Lami has found it hard to impress many ardent music listeners and pundits with her music. Don’t get me wrong, she claimed the fame, established herself into a mini diva-like status, and released a debut album that got satisfactory remarks but taking an in-depth look, does the most essential thing about her music strike your chords?
Her debut album ‘Intuition‘ if there is anything to go by, pulls average weight, like I said; satisfactory.
So as she releases two brand new singles from her forthcoming album – ‘Human‘, she’ll be hoping to banish any thoughts of under-performance and try to topple the efforts of her fellow female singers.
Lami’s bright side is that she is daring and daunting with her music, but unfortunately seems to get it wrong on ‘Ori Mi Wu’; as Iceprince delivers potent rhymes over a subtle beat; Lami attempts to sing and rap. Similarly, she makes the same mistake on ‘Yago‘, although the up-tempo sound might overshadow her flaw.
Lami has the potential to do more, ‘HUMAN‘ will be a perfect scorecard.

Are we listening to the same songs? Loved her rap on both tracks I actually found it rather refreshing….i dont think iceprince was the right person for the collabo on the ori mi wu song. And if you listen to the entire Intuition album songs like “Truth” and “Him” really show the depth of her talent. Osagie, perhaps you listen again before such harsh comments haba.
Hnmm, i have to go with the writer, the song tries to show depth but fails woefully. Lami’s debut was average just like the writer stated. Big props and courage to NET for applying constructive criticism where it’s meant to be stated.
I feel Lami can do better. Bought the first album will buy this one too!
