Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me…
If there’s only one thing Kas knows how to do, it’s to grab the audience’s attention. His debut album ‘Fi Mi Le‘ which spurned the hits songs ‘Fi mi le‘ and ‘Wine for me‘ was a definitive club banger that rocked the clubs and were on every party popper’s Ipod playlist. His customary strong use of the auto-tune audio mechanics over his vocals became his signature as he proudly made use of it throughout the Lp.
Kas is back with two brand new singles and as he tries to use the same formula as his last, it looks as if he has run out of ideas. It’s the same ol’ sequence and style, one would even think he pulled this out of his last album. Not a good look…
‘Wicked girl‘ lacks approach as the singer chants noiselessly over a somewhat distorted beat, it sounds similar to his previous club banger ‘Wind for me’ but like he was given only 20 minutes to record this in the studio.
‘Do That Thing‘ is way better as the auto-tune level drops, and Kas ventures to impress with his vocals and delivery but soon after the first verse, he introduces the same routine sound and eventually, the song sounds like a soundtrack played underneath a ‘Nollywood club scene’.
Kas can do better, or maybe just stick to production…?

I love kas keep it up Kas
This is one problem with d nigerian music industry.when excellent is no more in play, artists feel they culd do anything they feel like and ppl will go for it in the name of going commercial.kas magic never worked this time.he needs serious song writers to write songs for him cause this definatly shows he has a challenge in that area.nigerian artist shuld just be carefull with this idea of everybody doing freestyle and just recording what u like at d turn of the mic.so real the club will dance to this but for PR and prosterity music like this just don’t get you to be remembered when ure gone.evergreen songs are not croope like this.in a bid to get ur piece of the cake, producers now turn singers leaving the first thing they are gud at.I love and will rather prefer kas as produca than a singer.he makes better beats than a gud melody.this two songs shows lack of deapth, unoriginal, unreal.even an upcoming writer like wizkid will do more impressively than this.kas should stay with what works for him,cos ina bid to be a singer he might be affecting his other brand.a spot on d white no matter how small cahnges perception, its called dirty.gud work netng for always writing true and honest reviews.
I agree there’s no new innovation with these new songs. Ironic thing is these songs will take over the clubs just like his previous “hit” singles did. As regards this –> ” Kas can do better, or maybe just stick to production…?” …I’m not a fan of his production either. Same pattern, nothing new. No flexibility at all.
Ah you really killed this song. I have to agrre with you, it sounds a lot like his last tracks. Does he think we’re deaf that we won’t notice or what was he playing at. The songs, yes both, are terrible and I hope he does not quit his day job. This guy should know we are tired of his auto-tune enhanced songs. If he can’t put out a good track, he should just go and be doing voice over for commercials. He kuku has a good voice
The guy is wack abeg, he shd stik 2production
Kas man weldon 4 mi u’re d boomb. Tumbs up doin a gr8t job. As 4 dos befin no wory wit time na dem go dey rok 2 d tune. U 2 much
