Stepping into ones father’s shoes might just be the biggest task assigned to any human being. It’s seems to be the same for music newbie Tokunbo. The 21-year-old who’s father is the Juju musician Jide Chord started his musical at the age of ten, trotting along with his dad to perform at shows.
Tokunbo who later became a back up singer for his father is multi-instrumentalist who plays the drums, keyboard, guitar and the talking drum. Also a songwriter and producer, he has finally decided to bring his music out to the public.
With heavy percussions and a bassy tune, Tokunbo’s traditional style is pleasing to the ear (think a 9ice without a husky voice). He borrows a bit from KWAM 1 to deliver a very catchy chorus too. However, the lovely effort of Tokunbo is cut short with a disappointing verse from Kid Kudz (winner of Peak Talent Show 2010) who doesn’t seem to balance well on the rhythmic tune.

think u were a bit harsh on kid kudz..after u saying his verse was dissapointing i became keen to listen to the fuck up but didnt really find any that yourcelebrated acts wizkid etc have not made worse..guess its just your opinion

Osagz, I agree with olaolu you were harsh on the Kid Kudz dude. If I have to pick out a problem at all its with Tokunbo even tho I’m impressed with him too. He didnt start great but he ended well.
