She was once crowned the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria and then she shocked us all when she dumped the runways and grabbed the mic.
Munachi Abi or Muna for short has however for the past few years not been able to stamp her authority in the Hip-Hop circuit (but which other female act has anyway?). Even though her cameo appearances have impressed many, we wonder why her own singles fall short of glory.
Muna might just have the answers to our probing questions with the release of two hot new singles. Let’s check out what the self acclaimed half goddess half hustler has up her sleeves this time…
On ‘Here to stay’, Muna calls on the expertise of the talented rapper IBK to deliver a jazz-themed number. Muna’s delivery is near-impeccable and should be commended.
‘Down down low’ however sounds like a blatant attempt to make a commercial song. Muna switches to patois on the high-tempo dance beat and relies on Tom Thomas for a quirky hook. Barely satisfactory.
