Let’s time travel to 2005; who remembers that hip-hop video that got everybody glued to their TVs for about four minutes? Yea, that was Gino’s ‘No be God‘, the music video that was said to have sparked a revolution in Nigerian music video scene.
Gino rode on the success and popularity of the single to release a well crafted debut – ‘Pain Plus Work‘ which contained the hit song, ‘Farabale’ and received critical acclaim even though the commercial success of the album was below par.
As any rapper would probably face, the ‘sophomore jinx’ caught up with the Gino, sending his rap career into hibernation. The best we could get from the Benin born MC was just a few cameo features here and there most notably Cartiair‘s ‘Owo ati Swagger‘ remix.
Well Gino is back with ‘I’m so fly‘ which features Storm Records artistes, Naeto C and YQ. Expecting nothing less than a stellar performance, the track leaves up to the quality of names on the roaster as the Sossick (who happens to be Gino’s younger brother) produced beat sees Gino and Naeto C brag and profess their posh lifestyle with a laid back delivery while singer YQ compliments with a fitting chorus.
