Ebuka Obi-Uchendu has won the Most Popular Male Media Personality Award at the 2021 NET Honours People’s Choice Awards.
Ebuka, popularly known as the host of the biggest reality TV show in Nigeria, Big Brother Naija, won the Award ahead of Tobi Bakre, Do2dtun, Hero Daniels and Denola Grey. He is set to reprise his role as host of the Big Brother Naija show in 2021, which he has been doing since it returned in 2017.
NET Honours is an annual people’s choice award that recognises top performers and events in the entertainment industry and public sector that have shaped the year through a thorough analysis of audience search results, consumer interest, social media interactions and trends.
In 2019, Ebuka won the NET Honours’ Most Searched Media Personality’ award. He followed it up with the 2020 NET Honours People’s Choice award for Most Popular Male Media Personality and was nominated in the ‘Most Searched Media Personality’ award category. He was also named the most influential Big Brother Naija housemate of all time.
