According to Kenya Post, the fire incident occurred on Thursday, March 12, 2015 when the mother of the girl, identified Doreen Siyumu, left her to fetch water at a nearby stream, leaving the child with her elder brother who was only lucky to be saved by neighbours.
The cause of the fire is still unknown because the house is not connected to electricity and the woman wasn’t cooking at the time of the incident but the police officials have promised to carry out a proper investigation into the tragic fire incident.
