Adam Oshiomhole and the ‘Go and Die’ widow, Joy Ifijeh, were photographed some days ago in Edo State inspecting projects.
It was their first official outing since the ‘Go and Die’ encounter last year.
It will be recalled that last November, during a sanitation exercise in Benin City, Edo State, a woman’s goods were seized by State officials led by the Governor himself Adams Oshiomhole. The woman, a widow, is seen in a video recording begging the governor to pardon her. Oshiomhole, a former National Labour Congress president, tells her, ‘You’re a widow, go and die!’
The video went viral on social media and youths berated the governor for his ‘lack of sympathy’ for the widow. The governor later invited the widow, donated two million naira to her and employed her.
