Little is know, it seems, about Mustapha Audu, against whom 26-year-old Nigerian blogger Lotanna Igwe Odunze (a. k. a. Sugabelly) levelled allegations of sexual violence.
We take a look at Mustapha and his wife, who has allegedly openly defended her husband on Twitter.
1. Mustapha Audu is the Director of The Campbell Group (CG), a small, boutique consultancy specialising in Project Management.
2.

His wife Zahra, mother of three, is the MD, Magnolia Gold Bed and Breakfast Ltd.; the MD, Krafty Kid Club; and CEO, Oakleaf by CG Ltd.
3. They were both arrested in February 2013 for allegedly obtaining N18 million under false pretence.
4. They were arraigned on Tuesday 26 February, 2013. The allegation: Falsely obtaining said amount in their capacity as directors of Constructor Guild Limited from one Nike Kolawole under the pretence that they will get her a four-bedroom house at Katampe Extension, Abuja; and another property at Caemly Estate, Idu Sabo, FCT, Abuja. They pleaded not guilty.
5. Mustapha was remanded in Kuje prison while his wife was released on administrative bail because of her status as a nursing mother.
6. Two days later, Mustapha was released on bail in the sum of N5 million, with two sureties in like sum.
7. After appearing in court about five times, the case is yet undecided.
8. And, as you probably know already, he’s being accused of orchestrating and participating in a violent sexual abuse of a Nigerian blogger.
9.

Mustapha has denied all the claims made by Sugabelly whom he said wanted to marry him by force.
10. Mustapha’s elder brother, Mohammed Audu is one of the nominees to replace their late father as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State. Lawmakers have threatened to impeach the next governor of the state if its anyone other than Mohammed.
