Sources have confirmed to NET that Wande Coal and his erstwhile manager, Nana Abbey, are no longer working together.
The pop musician, who worked with Abbey for about seven years, ended their business relationship in late 2013.
Nana Abbey once worked for popular artiste manager Sunday Are, who was at the time Mo’Hits Records‘ group manager. He was assigned by Are to be in charge of the chubby pop singer, and that is how the pair developed a working relationship.
After the Mo’Hits crew broke up in 2012, Nana Abbey quit his job at List Entertainment (Sunday Are’s management company) and worked closely with Wande Coal.
Abbey was still spotted with the Globacom ambassador at the Felabration musical festival in 2013 which was held in October, but sources tell NET Wande and Abbey parted ways in November 2013.
‘Yup, they’re no more working together. The public might not know but industry insiders have known this for a while now‘, a source close to Wande Coal confirmed to NET.
In 2013, Wande Coal setup his Black Diamond Entertainment (BDE) company, walking away from his deal with former label boss Don Jazzy‘s Mavin Records.
A close source to Wande Coal tells us that Nana Abbey decided to leave Wande and BDE as he felt he no longer could align with the structure of the company.
‘Nana and Wande couldn’t just get on the same page again, so he decided to leave’, the source said.
Nana Abbey has setup his own company, SilverLight Events and Entertainment LTD. However, despite the split from Wande Coal, Abbey’s bio on Twitter still describes his outfit as the official management company for Black Diamond Entertainment.
NET has also learnt that Wande Coal is currently working with D’banj’s former manager and right hand man Seun Bankulli.
Bankulli, when reached by NET, confirmed the news, explaining that his company, Bankulli Entertainment, is currently providing support structure for Wande’s Black Diamond Entertainment outfit.
‘Yes it’s true. Bankulli Entertainment will oversee the technical details of Black Diamond Entertainment and work closely with Wande as he plans to release his new album‘, Bankulli told our reporter over the phone.
NET’s calls to Nana Abbey were not responded to, neither were text messages replied.
Calls placed to a contact number listed on Wande Coal’s Twitter page were also not responded to.
