NET exclusively reported the resignation of Uganda-born Leslie Kasumba from her position as head of Channel ‘O’ Africa yesterday, January 20, 2015. Further findings have now revealed the main reason behind the move by the respected broadcaster.
NET gathered that Lee Kasumba left her job at Channel ‘O’ armed with an audacious plan that ensure a foothold for Jay Z’s Roc Nation TV in Africa. Already, the Ugandan beauty is working with Nigerian veteran showbiz entrepreneur, Obi Asika who secured the franchise to bring the brand to Africa.
From what we heard, the Obi Asika-led Roc Nation Africa project is nearing completion and will be officially unveiled in March 2015 if everything goes well.
When prodded to speak on project, Lee responded by saying: ‘I would prefer to keep silent on this,’ before adding that ‘an announcement will be made shortly.’
