It’s less than 48 hours to the second edition of the Nigerian Entertainment Conference, we all are super excited and revved up for the biggest gathering in the entertainment industry after a successful debut in 2013.
Other than looking forward to the six different sessions holding at this year’s conference, everyone will be anticipating who makes this year’s honours list.
A total of 19 people made the list – They included veteran music producer, Nelson Brown, Afro beat legend, Femi Kuti and African pop icon, 2face Idibia. Others are Niteshift Coliseum creator, Ken Caleb-Olumese, Juju legend, King Sunny Ade, godfather of Nigerian comedy, Ali Baba, Fuji icon, K1, revered movie makers, Amaka Igwe and Tunde Kelani, distinguished publishers, Kunle Bakare, Mayor Akinpelu and Femi Akintunde Johnson, music superstars, D’banj and Don Jazzy, showbiz practitioner, Edi Lawani, renowned music label and media bosses, Kenny Ogungbe and Dayo Adeneye as well as Nigeria’s number one DJ, DJ Jimmy JATT.
This year’s recipients have not been announced.
According to the Chris Ihidero, Chairman of the Editorial Board at NET, the path of honour will always be threaded by distinguished individuals who continue to remind us all of what it means to be ‘Proudly Nigerian’ and make that count when it matters.
‘The idea of the NET honours is that we’ll keep recognizing people who have contributed positively to the Nigerian entertainment industry. It’s not bound by age, time, or gender. It’s an on-going process. We hope, one day we can honour everyone who have imparted immensely’, Ihidero says.
So tell us, which names do you think will end up on the honours list this year?
