Shortly after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested Nigerian musician, Naira Marley, whose real name is Afeez Fashola, Davido has stepped into the scene via an Instagram post, assuring the general public that he’s solidly behind Marley.
The arrest of the “This is a goal” Crooner, happened shortly after the release of his new single featuring Zlatan Ibile “Am I A Yahoo Boy”. The visual dropped today, and it is believed that Naira Marley’s arrest might be in connection with his controversial support of online fraudsters popularly known as “Yahoo Boys” through his social media platforms and recent song.
In his recent Instagram live session, Marley had urged Nigerians to pray for internet fraudsters (Yahoo boys) noting that they are the reason money circulates to the common man.
He said: “All you guys, all the money in your pockets, all the money you spend, you think it’s the government that is making the money go round?”
Based on reports, it is believed that Naira Marley was arrested alongside Zlatan, at the latter’s house in the early hours of Friday.
With the duo undergoing questioning with EFCC regarding their involvement in possible online fraudulent activities which their new song seems to promote, DMW boss, Davido, has guaranteed their release. According to him “MARLIAN, Free Bro, Nothing Spoil, I got you”.
