#MTVMAMA2016 leads to Yemi Alade VS Tiwa Savage battle on social media

For the second year in a row, Nigerian singer Yemi Alade won the ‘Best Female Act’ award at the MTV MAMAs in South Africa.

But her victory has now led to a new comparison between her and Mavin singer, Tiwa Savage, who also won the award in 2014 and is often referred to as Nigeria’s best female act.

Is Yemi Alade’s back-to-back victory enough for her to take over Tiwa Savage’s crown? Are they now on the same level? Who is the Queen of Nigerian pop? Or is there even a basis for comparison?
