Super Eagles player and Chelsea FC star Mikel Obi has been slammed with a misconduct charge by the English FA.
Mikel’s charge is ‘in relation to his club’s game against Manchester United on October 28, 2012,’ according to a statement on the official website of The FA.
‘It is alleged that in or around the Match Officials’ changing room at the end of the fixture, Mikel used threatening and/or abusive and/or insulting words and/or behaviour’, the statement read.
Mikel has not denied the charge, but wants a personal hearing to explain the circumstances surrounding the matter.
The FA has given the Chelsea midfield enforcer until November 30 to respond.
