Filipino boxer, Manny Pacquiao seems to have dominated the fans resident in his country, as popular electrical company, Palawan Electric have urged customers to turn off major appliances to assist in preventing outages so they can watch the bout when it airs.
Speaking about the electrical management, Palawan Electric Cooperative Secretary, Rante Ramos said shutting down refrigerators, washing machines and electric pots in 15,000 households, will help reduce the demand for electricity, when the fight is aired in the Philippines on Sunday.
‘If it is just for the Pacquiao fight, let us just leave electric fans and TVs on, we have waited so long for this, and now that it will happen, it is unacceptable not to have the opportunity to watch it. Shutting down refrigerators, washing machines and electric pots in 15,000 households will help. This is not only for the fight, we also want to teach citizens to show concern for fellow citizens, and of course to save electricity.’
The World’s richest boxing fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao kicks off in a few hours at the MGM Grand, Las Vegas.
