This year’s MTV Africa Music Awards just got super interesting – uber talented actor, stand-up comedian and all-round funny guy Marlon Wayans will host the awards show.
‘Marlon Wayans is a hugely popular entertainment figure known and loved by African audiences for ‘The Wayans Brothers’ and his various movie roles. His irreverent humour and infectious energy will definitely make him a great host for the 2014 MAMA,’, Alex Okosi, MD of Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) Africa commented.
The past three MAMAs were hosted by Trevor Nelson (2008), Wyclef Jean (2009) and Eve (2010).
The 2014 MAMA is set to feature performances from African and international artists, including the awards’ signature collaborations between US acts Miguel, French Montana and Nigerian artistes Davido, Flavour and Tiwa Savage plus South African hit makers Mafikizolo, Uhuru, Oskido and Professor. Many more artists are due to be announced next week.
The event will hold on June 7, 2014, at the International Conference Centre, Durban, South Africa.
