Time and time again, the issue of DNA testing comes up- many Nigerian men are of the opinion that children should be tested to confirm their paternity. Some even go as far as quoting a report that says most first born children are ‘bastards’. As the debate rages on, this Twitter user @Miyaki shared his personal experience and his story will scare you.
So if you are against DNA, you either haven’t gone through the pain of being a child that isn’t yours or you have something you hiding

In 2011,an old flame called me that she wanted talk. Mind you we didn’t even say hi in the preceding year but as a man you don’t hold grudge
— Miyaki (@odineisipatrick) June 7, 2017
It was in Jan, we saw, she talked how she had missed us, bla bla bla, and how she is broke. Gave her money, before you know we became close
— Miyaki (@odineisipatrick) June 7, 2017
Before you know we started seeing again. From that Jan till like April we had sex like 3x. We see, laugh like before, gist, she came over
— Miyaki (@odineisipatrick) June 7, 2017
Was enjoying the whole company thing till she told me one day “you don’t allow me cook for you when I come visiting”. I was like what?
— Miyaki (@odineisipatrick) June 7, 2017
Mind you before we broke up,she didn’t cook for me.I am not a foody so I dont judge a lady by her cooking skills but her words got me scared
— Miyaki (@odineisipatrick) June 7, 2017
In April I ended it, went to Ghana n when I came back, aunty said she was pregnant. I was like you joking right. She said no she isn’t.
— Miyaki (@odineisipatrick) June 7, 2017
First instinct was I am not ready for it moreover we weren’t dating as in dating. She was she wouldn’t remove it. She wants the baby bla bla
— Miyaki (@odineisipatrick) June 7, 2017
I made her see reasons why she can’t keep it, Nada..One min, she is I would remove it, another min she is I am keeping it.Make you decision
— Miyaki (@odineisipatrick) June 7, 2017
She came, told me she would remove it and it would cost her just #200 postinor. We all know postinor. For peace to rein, gave her 10k for it
— Miyaki (@odineisipatrick) June 7, 2017
Called the next day to know if she has taken it, she told me “I am doing nothing to it”. My head rang. So why then did you take the money?
— Miyaki (@odineisipatrick) June 7, 2017
It became a long battle. Begged HEAVEN, NO WAY. I wasn’t prepared for a baby EMOTIONALLY. I became the talk of the town in Benin.
— Miyaki (@odineisipatrick) June 7, 2017
Isi don give F*%&* belle and e nor wan accept am.My reputation was dealth a big blow, my esteem became low, my ego was bruised.I was ashamed
— Miyaki (@odineisipatrick) June 7, 2017
No one in my family has ever had a child out of wedlock… Here I am now. The next 9 month was hellish. Lots of talks.
— Miyaki (@odineisipatrick) June 7, 2017
People begging you to accept her for the baby sake.It was a mistake so please forgive her. You can’t let you child be trained by another man
— Miyaki (@odineisipatrick) June 7, 2017
One thing I stood my ground for was that I would never marry her. You can force a child on me but you can’t force me getting marred to you
— Miyaki (@odineisipatrick) June 7, 2017
Marriage and child bearing should be a decision made by 2 people. You can’t use deceit to be pregnant and then want me take you as wife
— Miyaki (@odineisipatrick) June 7, 2017
Male friends told me to accept my fate but do whatever would make me happy, female friends were just forgive her and marry her. Na love
— Miyaki (@odineisipatrick) June 7, 2017
She gave birth to a boy in Jan. Mind you I have always said I would do DNA when the child comes and she would say do na… E go shock you
— Miyaki (@odineisipatrick) June 7, 2017
First day I went to the Hosp, told me cousins the child isn’t mine. That I don’t see an resemblance. One said bros nor talk like that o abeg
— Miyaki (@odineisipatrick) June 7, 2017
Anyway took it as my cross. Dad was supportive. Any decision you make I am with you, mum was pressing I marry her. Marry just like that?

Had to leave Benin after a while cos of the whole drama. Son was growing, was sending monthly upkeep, buying stuff, going to see them
— Miyaki (@odineisipatrick) June 7, 2017
Time to start school, he did start a school she wanted. Was told to do whatever she wants to make peace reign
— Miyaki (@odineisipatrick) June 7, 2017
Mind you dude was dark, had knock knees (which neither of us had), had a very thin lower lips (which neither of us had).
— Miyaki (@odineisipatrick) June 7, 2017
When I told family my observations, you would hear “don’t worry when he is grown he would look like you”, “cant you see his eyes is like urs”
— Miyaki (@odineisipatrick) June 7, 2017
At a time you get confused again lol. Anyway loved him like mine, had pictures of us together. When I go visiting, we play likes biddies.
— Miyaki (@odineisipatrick) June 7, 2017
Along the line someone encouraged me do DNA as I alwaz said I would do. That he has seen the child again and he doesn’t look like mine
— Miyaki (@odineisipatrick) June 7, 2017
This time I was gingered to get it done. Didn’t know any diagnostic center doing DNA. Google is always your friend so they say
— Miyaki (@odineisipatrick) June 7, 2017
That was how I knew about “PathCare”. Lucky for me they had a center in Benin. Told her, initially she was down with it but later agreed
— Miyaki (@odineisipatrick) June 7, 2017
She agreed when I told her I wouldn’t be sending monthly allowee if she doesn’t agree to it. Moreover it is my money I am using
— Miyaki (@odineisipatrick) June 7, 2017
Didn’t know you can’t do DNA without the child’s mum consent except he is 18. We were told to bring birth cert, means of identification etc
— Miyaki (@odineisipatrick) June 7, 2017
They were detailed. They ensure both parties see everything they do and agree to every step. We were told result would be out in 3weeks time
— Miyaki (@odineisipatrick) June 7, 2017
The test was usually done in SA. We both signed that we would collect the result together.
— Miyaki (@odineisipatrick) June 7, 2017
Didn’t have the chance to go for the result in Oct, went in Nov, we were given the result. Lo and behold ……………
— Miyaki (@odineisipatrick) June 7, 2017
The result was 99.9% sure that the child wasn’t mine. She died on the spot, screaming Jesus I am finished.I was blanked. My emotions failed me
— Miyaki (@odineisipatrick) June 7, 2017
This was me who had said before if I ever do a DNA test n I am not the father, I would do this and do that but here was I blanked
— Miyaki (@odineisipatrick) June 7, 2017
She held on to me crying. I was consoling her. Me that should be jumping and screaming. We left the center and I told her these
— Miyaki (@odineisipatrick) June 7, 2017
You owe your child the right for him to know his dad. She said lots of things not necessary now
— Miyaki (@odineisipatrick) June 7, 2017
True life story bro… True life story
— Miyaki (@odineisipatrick) June 7, 2017
No Fields Found.I dont. I hope they are fine
